What it covers
- RPM = (SFM × 12) ÷ (π × D) — capped by your machine's spindle limit
- Feed rate = RPM × chip load × effective teeth
- Material library with hardness-aware starting values
- Optional chip thinning and high-feed milling geometry
Common questions
- How do I calculate RPM from SFM?
- Multiply surface feet per minute by 12, then divide by π times the cutter diameter in inches. Metric: Vc × 1000 ÷ (π × D in mm).
- Are these values guaranteed?
- No. They are starting points. Your tool supplier's data and your machine's limits always come first.
