    Notification Types

JobLine.ai generates notifications for several event categories: Handoffs (a new handoff is filed at your station or requires your acknowledgment), Work Orders (an order is assigned to your station, status changes on orders you are tracking), Quality (an NCR is filed, dispositioned, or closed on work you are involved in), Announcements (organization-wide messages from your admin), and System (updates, maintenance windows, or new feature releases).

    In-App Notifications

In-app notifications appear as a badge count on the bell icon in the header. Click the bell to see a list of recent notifications with timestamps. Unread notifications are highlighted. Clicking a notification navigates you to the relevant record (e.g., the handoff, work order, or NCR). You can mark all notifications as read to clear the badge count.

    Email Notifications

By default, certain high-priority events also generate email notifications: new handoffs at your station, NCRs filed on your work orders, and critical announcements. You can enable or disable email notifications for each category independently in Settings → Notifications. Disabling email notifications does not affect in-app notifications — you will still see them when you open the application.

    Organization Announcements

Admins can post announcements that appear prominently in your notification center. High-priority announcements (marked as "urgent" by the admin) may bypass your email notification preferences and send an email regardless. This mechanism is reserved for critical communications like safety alerts, system outages, or policy changes.

    Do Not Disturb

If you need to temporarily suppress notifications (e.g., during a vacation or an off-shift period), you can enable "Do Not Disturb" mode in Settings → Notifications. While active, in-app notification badges are suppressed and email notifications are paused. Notifications are still generated and stored — when you disable Do Not Disturb, you can review everything you missed.
