    What the ERP Connector Does

The ERP connector enables bidirectional synchronization between JobLine.ai and your existing Enterprise Resource Planning system. It can import work orders from your ERP into JobLine.ai (so operators do not need to re-enter them manually), sync part catalog data, push status updates back to the ERP (so planners and sales teams see real-time progress), and exchange quantity information (good parts, scrap). This eliminates double data entry and keeps both systems in sync.

    Supported Integration Methods

JobLine.ai supports API-based integration with ERP systems that provide RESTful or OData endpoints. The connector is configurable for various ERP platforms — the specific setup depends on your ERP's API capabilities. If your ERP does not have a standard API, file-based import/export (via the bulk upload feature) is an alternative.

    Configuration Steps

Navigate to Settings → ERP Connector. Enter: your ERP's API endpoint URL, authentication credentials (API key, OAuth credentials, or username/password — depending on your ERP), and select which data types to sync (work orders, parts, statuses). Click "Test Connection" to verify that JobLine.ai can communicate with your ERP before enabling automatic sync.

    Status Mapping

ERP systems use different status names than JobLine.ai. The status mapping table lets you define equivalences — for example, your ERP's "Released" maps to JobLine.ai's "Queued," and your ERP's "In Process" maps to "In Progress." This mapping ensures that status changes in either system are translated correctly when synced. Review and test the mappings carefully before enabling automated sync.

    Sync Schedule and Monitoring

Syncs can run on a configurable schedule (every 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or hourly) or be triggered manually. The sync log in Settings → ERP Connector shows a history of all sync operations: when they ran, how many records were fetched, created, or updated, and any errors encountered. Monitor this log regularly, especially after initial setup, to ensure data is flowing correctly.

    Error Handling

If a sync encounters errors (e.g., a work order number conflict, an unrecognized status, or a network timeout), the error is logged with details and the affected records are skipped. Other records in the same sync batch are processed normally. Review errors in the sync log and resolve them manually — common fixes include correcting status mappings, deduplicating work order numbers, or verifying network connectivity to the ERP.
