    What Is a Machine Profile?

A machine profile is a detailed record of a piece of equipment: its manufacturer, model, serial number, asset tag, purchase date, and other operational details. Linking a machine profile to a station enriches the station card with equipment-specific information and supports maintenance tracking, calibration scheduling, and warranty management.

    Equipment Record Fields

Each equipment record includes: Name (e.g., "Haas VF-2"), Equipment Type (CNC Mill, Lathe, Grinder, etc.), Manufacturer, Model Number, Serial Number, Asset Tag (your internal tracking number), Purchase Date, Warranty Expiration, and optional fields for calibration dates and maintenance notes.

    The Machine Profile Marketplace

JobLine.ai includes a library of pre-built machine profiles for popular CNC equipment brands: Haas, Mazak, DMG Mori, Okuma, Doosan, and others. Attaching a marketplace profile to your station pre-fills the manufacturer and model data automatically. This saves setup time and ensures consistency across stations with the same equipment.

    Creating Custom Profiles

If your equipment is not in the marketplace — custom-built machines, specialty equipment, or less common brands — create a custom profile by entering the details manually. Navigate to the station's detail page, click "Add Equipment," and fill in the fields. Custom profiles function identically to marketplace profiles.

    Maintenance and Calibration Tracking

Equipment records include fields for last calibration date and next calibration due date. When a calibration date approaches, the system can generate alerts so maintenance tasks are not overlooked. This is particularly important for inspection equipment where calibration directly affects quality assurance.
