Production Analytics Deep Dive
Understanding the charts, metrics, and data visualizations available on the analytics panels.
Available Metrics
The production analytics section tracks several key performance indicators: Throughput (parts produced per hour or per shift), Utilization Rate (percentage of time stations are actively running vs. idle or down), First-Pass Yield (percentage of parts that pass inspection without rework), Downtime Minutes (total time stations were in Down status), and Queue Depth (number of work orders waiting at each station).
Time Range Selection
Use the date range picker above the charts to control the period being analyzed. Preset options include: Current Shift, Today, Yesterday, This Week, Last Week, This Month, and Custom Range. Changing the range updates all charts simultaneously. For comparing shifts, select the same time window on different dates.
Reading the Charts
Bar charts show discrete values (e.g., parts produced per station). Line charts show trends over time (e.g., hourly throughput). The color coding matches the rest of the application: green for positive/on-target metrics, amber for caution, and red for below-target or alarming values. Hover over any data point to see the exact value and timestamp.
Identifying Bottlenecks
Compare utilization rates across stations. A station with consistently lower utilization than its peers may be experiencing frequent tool changes, material shortages, or operator availability issues. Conversely, a station at near-100% utilization with a growing queue depth may need additional capacity (a second machine or an additional shift).
Exporting Data
Click the download icon on any chart to export its underlying data as a CSV file. This is useful for creating custom reports in Excel, sharing data with management, or feeding metrics into external business intelligence tools. The export includes all data points for the selected time range, including data not visible due to chart aggregation.
