    Micrometer Technique

    Best practice sequence

    1. Check zero before use
    2. Clean the spindle, anvil, and part
    3. Use the ratchet or friction thimble for consistent force
    4. Keep the spindle square to the work
    5. Read the sleeve, then the thimble, then the vernier if present

    • Vernier micrometers can resolve to 0.0001 in
