What JobLine G-Code Intelligence Does
Dialect-Aware Syntax Highlighting
Not generic coloring — dialect-specific rules for each CNC control. G-codes, M-codes, address words, macro variables, comments, and motion types each distinctly colored. Guaranteed readable contrast across all VS Code themes. Nine supported file extensions.
Rich Hover Tooltips
Hover any G-code, M-code, or address word for a full description, parameter list, and usage notes inline. No tab switching. No external manual.
| Hover | You See |
|-------|---------|
| G83 | Peck Drilling Cycle — Z, R, Q, P, F parameters |
| G02 | Circular Interpolation CW — I, J, K, R |
| M06 | Tool Change |
| G54 | Work Coordinate System 1 |
| X Y Z | Axis descriptions |
| F S T H D | Feed / spindle / tool / offset descriptions |
| CYCLE83 | Siemens peck drill — positional parameter list |
Live Sidebar — 5 Views, Updated as You Type
| View | Shows | |------|-------| | Operations | Each tool change as a named operation with line range — click to jump | | Tools | All T-numbers called with descriptions, in program order | | Offsets | Work coordinate systems G54–G59 in use | | Canned Cycles | Every G81/G82/G83/etc. with full parameter set | | Alarms & Warnings | Diagnostic results — expands significantly in v0.2 |
Macro B Parser
Variables (#1, #100, #5041), arithmetic expressions (Z[#1 + 0.5]), and control flow (IF, WHILE, GOTO) are all correctly tokenized and evaluated where possible. Unresolvable expressions tracked — no false positives.
