    Announcing the Manufacturing Visibility 100

    ZachJune 4, 2026 4 min read

Manufacturing is full of people you've never heard of doing world-class work

Walk any small or mid-size machine shop in the country and you'll find a programmer who quietly redesigned a fixture and cut cycle time by 40%. A supervisor who turned a four-shift handoff into something that actually transfers knowledge. An owner who runs a 12-machine job shop hitting AS9100 with discipline that would embarrass a publicly traded prime. An educator at a community college whose graduates carry whole regional supply chains.

None of them get the recognition vendor award programs hand out at trade shows.

That's the gap we're trying to close.

    The Manufacturing Visibility 100

Today we're opening nominations for the inaugural Manufacturing Visibility 100 — an annual list of the 100 people, shops, builders, and educators pushing modern manufacturing forward. Practical shop-floor impact is weighted higher than audience size. A human editor reviews every rank before it publishes.

The list is editorially independent of our product roadmap and our customers. WeCr8 Solutions (the company behind JobLine.ai) is the publisher; sponsors may underwrite the surrounding media but no one can buy a rank.

    Who belongs on it

    Ten categories, intentionally broad:

    • Shop-Floor Innovators
    • CNC and CAM Leaders
    • Manufacturing Educators
    • Small and Mid-Size Shop Leaders
    • Automation and Robotics Leaders
    • Tooling and Metrology Leaders
    • Manufacturing Software Builders
    • Workforce Development Leaders
    • Rising Manufacturing Professionals
    • Legacy Builders

If the nominee teaches an apprentice, ships a program, runs a shop, builds a tool, or writes something the industry actually reads — they're eligible.

    How we score

Each nominee gets a 0–100 score across six components:

    | Weight | Component | |---:|---| | 25 | Practical manufacturing impact | | 20 | Modernization / innovation | | 20 | Public visibility / industry voice | | 15 | Education / mentorship / community | | 10 | Relevance to small and mid-size shops | | 10 | Momentum over the last 12 months |

Full breakdown lives on the methodology page.

    What this list won't do

Lists go bad when their credibility erodes. So we wrote the guardrails down before the first edition publishes:

    • No defamation, accusations, or character claims about anyone — featured or omitted.
    • No private-claim ranking. Scores rely on public evidence.
    • No pay-for-placement. Sponsorship never buys a rank.
    • Opt-out is honored within 7 days, no questions asked.
    • Conflicts of interest are disclosed inline.

The full version is on the methodology page.

    What happens after nomination

    1. We collect nominations continuously. The candidate set freezes 6 weeks before publish.
    2. Editorial + research staff verify each entry against public sources.
    3. An editor reviews every top-100 entry before it ships — no published rank derives solely from automated scoring.
    4. Shortlisted nominees get an email with a chance to update their entry or opt out.
    5. The first edition publishes in Q4 2026, with category pages, share kits, and a follow-up "who did we miss" post a week later.

    Nominate someone

It takes 90 seconds. Peer nominations carry more editorial weight than self-nominations, but both are welcome.
